Amazing flavor, very relaxing and at the same time gives energy. it is a good compliment in the morning and afternoons. I really love it.
Product shipped quickly and arrived intact. It looks like some of the other reviewers found that it was drier and more viscous than other shilajit products. I found that it was opposite but that just chilling it in the refrigerator or keeping it cooler in general can help that. The taste was similar to other shilajit products I’ve tried, which is a bitter, rubber type flavor.
Shilajit resin is an interesting product. It contains 85+ essential minerals so it’s benefits are kind of a wide spectrum sort of thing. It is also believed to give you an energy boost if taken regularly.
I’ve been taking it for several weeks and I do notice a general overall better feeling and more energy myself, but I suspect this is hit or miss so you really have to try it and see if it helps you or not.
This jar comes with a metal spoon, which is nice because many other sellers just give you a wooden popsicle stick thing that is harder to use.
You take the resin and mix it with a warm drink and let it dissolve before drinking it. It has a funny taste that takes some getting used to, so you may want to mix it with something other than water so you can hide the taste somewhat. A nice tea would work fine.
This is the first time I’ve used shilajit – I was intrigued by the information that it can boost natal jing (essence). I don’t have any health issues and I always have a LOT of energy, so I typically don’t ever take any supplements, and I just focus on eating real food without added chemicals, preservatives, and without processing, as close to how it comes from nature as possible …but I thought I’d see if this shilajit provides ANY shift… I’ve been taking a very tiny amount on the metal spoon each morning on an empty stomach and there does seem to be a slight shift which is hard to quantify. It’ll require using it for a few more weeks. I looked up characteristics of authentic shilajit and this does seem to be a high quality product. It has a very burnt coffee taste (which I discovered after I had finally figured out what the taste was reminding me of) that burnt coffee is a common descriptor for authentic shilajit. It actually starts to taste good after the first several days (although if you don’t like coffee, you probably won’t like the flavor.
It is a VERY solid resin in the jar. I’ve seen that shilajit can come in a more liquidy format where presumably they’re adding water to make it a softer consistency since those always have a higher maximum daily dose, usually around 800 mg. This one the max daily dose is 500 mg meaning that it’s more concentrated. A resin is typically a very thick, sticky substance as this shilajit is. It comes with a data sheet of purity testing to show that it doesn’t contain heavy metals (which the shiljit from higher altitudes should not_ so that’s good to see that at least they’re occasionally batch testing. Anyway, overall, from what I’ve experienced so far, there are some slight benefits within the first couple weeks and no negative side effects that I’ve noticed yet. I’ll keep taking it – probably 3 weeks on, one week off which is a good practice with any kind of plant based supplements.
i’ve never used shilajit in resin form, though i have used it as a powder and liquid. this one is definitely more potent, smells like coal tar and is a bit off-putting. the lab results testing sheet means nothing to me because it’s difficult to trust or know that actual testing occurred. this product is packaged well though some of the shilajit had seeped out from between the plastic seal and glass jar, resulting in hard dry product caked on around the protective inner plastic seal. this made it difficult to open and resulted in loss of a considerable amount that had dried up and formed a thick paint-like film around half the jar. i’m a little nervous about using this, given how tacky it is and difficult to get out of the jar (the metal spoon really helps, though!) and the strong scent. it tastes like burnt tobacco and i’m not sure i’ll force myself to take it in small amounts of water, though i am trying to mix it with other things and see if it’s tolerable.
